Our Story
What is Diabetes Art
I was diagnosed with Type 1 in 2014 at the of 5. Since then, I have accumulated a wide range of medical devices and supplies to help manage the condition. This includes insulin vials, pumps, applicators, glucose monitors, test strips and more! While these would often be discarded as basic waste, there was a unique opportunity!
These seemingly random pieces of waste have provided endlesss opportunities for art to take shape! Often these pieces of art are created with particular people in mind which guides the overall theme.
I hope these serve as inspiration for those that are also dealing with Type 1 diabetes
